Energodar of the Zaporizhzhia region is under fire from the army of the Russian Federation. The occupiers are shelling the pre-agreed route of the IAEA mission from Zaporizhzhia to the ZNPP.

The mayor of Energodar, Dmytro Orlov, noted that the Russian killers, who are shelling Energodar in the morning with mortars, machine guns and lobbing shells, have used aviation (helicopters are circling over the city). It is already known about the dead and wounded as a result of shelling by the Russian army.
– There is information about hits on residential buildings on Tsentralna, Voiniv-Internationalistiv, Kurchatov streets, private houses in the suburbs, a store, kindergartens, – informed the mayor of Energodar.

The head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Starukh, noted that the Russians are shelling the pre-agreed route of the IAEA mission from Zaporizhzhia to the ZNPP. The UN advance team cannot continue the movement due to security reasons.
– Ukraine continues to make efforts to organize safe access of the international IAEA mission to the ZNPP. We demand from the Russian Federation to stop provocations and to grant the IAEA unhindered access to the Ukrainian nuclear facility, – urged Starukh.
Updated September 1 at 07:42. Since 05:00 in the morning, constant mortar shelling of Energodar has not stopped. Automatic bursts can be heard, and there are also hits on several civilian objects. There are victims, but the exact number is being determined.

Updated September 1 at 07:12. According to preliminary data, some infrastructure objects were hit. As a result of shelling by Russian troops, water supply has disappeared in some areas of Energodar.
As of September 1, 07:12, an air alert signal is sounding in Luhansk (lasts from April 4, 19:45), Kherson, Kirovohrad, Zaporizhzhia regions and Nikopol district in Dnipropetrovsk region.
