In Donetsk region, the Security Service detained red-handed another FSB agent who was adjusting Russian air attacks on the positions of the Defense Forces.
According to the agency, the main targets of the enemy were the Armed Forces units involved in counteroffensive operations in the Bakhmut area.
The offender managed to pass on eight locations of Ukrainian troops moving toward the front line to the aggressor.
However, the SBU officers exposed the criminal at the initial stage of her criminal activity and thus timely informed the Armed Forces command about potential threats.
– After that, comprehensive measures were taken to protect Ukrainian defenders in this area, and the Russian agent herself was detained on an attempt to pass new intelligence to the aggressor,” the SBU said.
According to the investigation, the enemy accomplice was a resident of Toretsk, who was remotely recruited by the Russian special service earlier this year.
To engage the suspect in covert cooperation, the invaders used another traitor from the temporarily occupied part of the region. She turned out to be a friend of the Russian agent, a representative of the occupation “FSB Department for the DNR”.
On her instructions, the woman walked around the city and its surroundings on her own and secretly recorded military facilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. She wrote about the information she received in a messenger, and after sending the messages, she immediately deleted them from her phone.
Based on the collected evidence, SBU investigators served the detainee a notice of suspicion under Part 2 Art. 111 of the Criminal Code (high treason committed under martial law).
The offender is currently in custody. She faces life imprisonment.
