An attack on a hotel in the center of Kharkiv: two Turkish journalists were among the 13 injured

The number of people injured in the evening rocket attack on a hotel in Kharkiv district of Kyiv has increased to 13.

Rocket attack on Kharkiv on January 10

The Russian military fired two missiles from the S-300 anti-aircraft missile complex at Kharkiv at around 10:30 p.m. from Belgorod.

One rocket hit the ground near the front of the hotel, the second hit the roof of the building. A fire broke out.

The back part of the hotel was partially destroyed by shelling.

Residential buildings – communal and private, a car dealership, and a manufacturing enterprise – were also affected.

People who needed it were resettled in other places.

What is known about the victims

Two foreigners are among the 13 victims.

In particular, a Turkish citizen and a Georgian citizen were injured. Both are Turkish media journalists.

According to the regional prosecutor’s office, three injured were treated on the spot, ten are in the hospital.

Oleg Synegubov, the head of the regional military administration, currently has other figures regarding the hospitalized.

According to the head of the region, two people are in medical facilities.

A 35-year-old man is in serious condition, a 71-year-old woman is in moderate condition.

In total, 30 people were in the hotel complex at the time of the rocket attack – seven employees and 23 guests. All of them are civilians. There was no military personnel there, emphasized the Mayor of Kharkiv Igor Terekhov.

Reaction of law enforcement officers

Prosecutors together with police investigators collected evidence and recorded the consequences of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation.

The law enforcement officers have already started a pre-trial investigation on the fact of violation of the laws and customs of war ( Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
