According to the Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko , the number of dead has increased to 11, and 22 people were injured. Three others are considered missing.
Among the dead is a 25-year-old police lieutenant. The woman lived in a neighboring house, was at home on sick leave. She received a fatal shrapnel wound.

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, announced that 10 people have already died as a result of the air strike on Chernihiv. There are still people under the rubble.
– Unfortunately, the number of dead may increase. And this would not have happened if Ukraine had received enough air defense equipment and if the world’s determination to counter Russian terror was also sufficient, Zelenskyy noted.
According to the head of the Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, Viacheslav Chaus , civil infrastructure buildings and dozens of vehicles were damaged by the rocket attack. All services and volunteers are working.
On the air, Oleksandr Lomako, the acting mayor of the city, reported that immediately after 9 in the morning, three powerful explosions were heard in Chernihiv. This is not the center of the city, but a fairly densely populated area.
– There is a direct impact on the social infrastructure building. This is a nine-story building. Visually destroyed elements of six floors. Unfortunately, there is confirmed information about four dead. From what I see, the number may increase, unfortunately, – said Oleksandr Lomako.
Five wounded people have already applied to one of the city’s hospitals, and their number may also increase. Nearby buildings were damaged, many cars and city infrastructure were damaged.
– This is the intersection of two major roads, so there was a lot of traffic here at that time, – Oleksandr Lomako said.
The condition of the injured after the explosion in Chernihiv
General Director of Chernihiv Regional Hospital Andrii Zhidenko said on air that nine victims were brought to the hospital, three of whom are in serious condition, the others are in moderate condition.

According to the head of the Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, Vyacheslav Chaus, the Russian enemy fired three missile strikes almost at the center of the city – civilians were killed and many were injured. Now rescuers and medics are working on the spot.
– Russia is a terrorist. And the terrorists must be destroyed, – Viacheslav Chaus said.
The need for donor blood
The Chernihiv Regional Blood Transfusion Center calls on the residents of the city to donate blood for the wounded.
– In connection with the situation in our city, there is an urgent need, – the message says.
