Ukraine’s Ambassador to Germany Andriy Melnyk reacted sharply to discussions in German coalition circles about a possible tightening of sanctions against Russia.
German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock tweeted that the photos from Bucha were unbearable. Baerbock added that all those responsible for crimes should be brought to justice.
The diplomat stressed that Germany will strengthen sanctions against Russia and will support Ukraine even more.
The Ukrainian diplomat reposted the tweet of the German Foreign Minister sharply criticizing it.
– And now let’s face it: for the traffic light government (the current German coalition, – Ed.) in order to finally dare to continue to put pressure on Russia and strengthen further sanctions (including gas and oil embargoes?), it is necessary to kill hundreds of civilians again and rape women again. Of course, – he writes.
Thus, the Ukrainian ambassador reacted to the scandalous statement of the German Minister of Finance Christian Lindner, who spoke out against the imposition of an embargo on Russian energy.
Earlier, Andriy Melnyk said that after the full-scale Russian invasion Lindner told him in Berlin that Ukraine had “only a few hours” left so he opposed the supply of weapons to Kyiv and the disconnection of the Russian Federation from SWIFT.
