The EU has agreed to increase military aid to Ukraine to € 1.5 billion – Borrell

The European Union will provide Ukraine with the third tranche of € 500 million in military aid. Thus, the total amount of EU military aid has already increased to € 1.5 billion.
According to EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell on 13 April, the aid is being extended for one year.
– With these new additional € 500 million, the EU has allocated a total of € 1.5 billion to support the supply of military equipment to the Armed Forces of Ukraine by EU member states. The coming weeks will be crucial … It is extremely important that we continue and increase our military support for Ukraine to protect its territory and population, – said Josep Borrell.

As part of the agreed military aid to Ukraine, EU countries will supply not only personal protective equipment, first aid kits and fuel but also lethal equipment for defense purposes.
Note that the previous two tranches were agreed on February 28 and March 23, 2022.
