The Russians executed those wishing to surrender in the Donetsk region – the United States

The United States has credible evidence that Russians executed Ukrainians trying to surrender in the Donetsk region.
This was announced during a meeting of the UN Security Council on April 27 by US Special Ambassador for International Justice Beth Van Shaak.
– We have reliable information that representatives of the Russian military unit operating near Donetsk executed, not detained, Ukrainians who tried to surrender, – said Beth Van Shaak.
The US special ambassador stressed that these facts, if they did occur, violate a basic principle of military law – the prohibition of the execution of civilians and combatants who have captured, injured or have other forms of disability.
– Our message to the Russian military and political leadership, as well as to the rank and file, is simple: the world is watching and you will be held accountable,- Beth Van Shaak said.
