A necessary condition for lasting peace in Ukraine and Europe is the withdrawal of all Russian soldiers from the Kremlin-occupied Ukrainian territory, as stated German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock, according to Liga News.
– Our goal is peace for the people of Ukraine, for ourselves and our children. But the peaceful order we knew in Europe was irrevocably destroyed by Putin. A ceasefire can only be the first step.
Peace under the conditions dictated by Russia will not bring the desired security to Ukraine or to us in Europe. In the worst case, it will be an invitation to the next war – even closer to our borders, – she said.
Baerbock also stressed that no matter how much someone wanted, there would be no return to political relations with Russia, which had existed before February 24.
– We will never be able to rely on Putin’s promises again, – she explained.
The German Foreign Minister noted that Ukraine now needs a help to repel a full-scale Russian invasion and protect itself from future attacks.
– Only when everyone in Europe realizes again that no country will win as a result of the war, and everyone loses, will real peace come again, – Baerbock said.
She stressed that sanctions against Russia could be lifted only if Russia withdrew all troops from Ukraine.
