RF may use mobilization to strengthen Rosgvardiya – British intelligence
The Russian Federation may use partial mobilization to reinforce Rosgvardiya units with additional forces.
The intelligence of the Defense Ministry reported the high probability that Russia would take such a step on September 25.
The Defence Ministry stressed that State Duma deputy Alexander Khinstein called for replenishing the ranks of the Rosgvardia as early as the day the partial mobilization was announced on September 21.
– The units of the Rosgvardia played an important role both in ensuring combat operations and security of the home front in Ukraine, and now they are helping to hold pseudo-referendums in the occupied territories, – the British intelligence officers said.
The British Defense Ministry recalled that units assigned to internal security tasks, in particular, to ensure the continuity of the Putin regime, were particularly ill-prepared for the intense fighting in Ukraine.
The British intelligence adds that the Rosgvardiya is under particular strain now that it must suppress the growing dissent in Russia and carry out operational tasks in Ukraine.
Therefore, there is a real possibility that partial mobilization will be used to reinforce the Rosgvardia with manpower.
