Ukraine is waiting for the delivery of Switchblade 600 attack drones from the USA – Reznikov
The government of Ukraine expects the delivery of the Switchblade 600 tactical strike unmanned aerial system from the United States. This was stated by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Oleksiy Reznikov, in a comment to foreign journalists.
– We are still waiting for the Switchblade 600 drones. The US has promised to help Kyiv increase its stock of barrage ammunition, which can hover over the target before the operator directs it to strike, – said the head of the Ministry of Defense.
The company AeroVironment, which manufactures drones, said that the first batch of 10 drones should be delivered within a few weeks.
According to Reznikov, in recent weeks, Iran has sold about 2,400 drones to the aggressor country Russia. For this reason, the main priority will remain the supply of air defense systems, he assures.
– You need to separate the targets in the air. For example, to defeat cruise or ballistic missiles, defense systems will use IRIS-T from Germany or our Soviet Buk-type systems. Against Iranian drones, we can use cheaper equipment, for example, Gepard, Stingers and Starstreak or other equipment from our partners, – the minister noted.
