Border guards have significantly strengthened the protection of the border with Russia and Belarus – Demchenko
In Ukraine, security has been significantly strengthened at the sections of the state border with Russia, Belarus and Moldova near the unrecognized Transnistria. Border guards pay the most attention to these areas in order to prevent escalation.
This was stated by the spokesman of the State Border Service of Ukraine, Andriy Demchenko, during a briefing on October 28. In his opinion, the threat of a second invasion from the territory of Belarus still remains.
Demchenko assures that in the event of a real threat, the Defense Forces near the borders of Ukraine are ready for the development of any situation and a strong response to the enemy.
According to the spokesman of the State Border Service, there are currently no changes in the situation, so it is under control. At the same time, the army of Belarus continues measures to cover the border within the Brest and Gomel regions. The number of soldiers does not change, despite the fact that units in this direction are on a rotational basis.
However, Belarus does not stop supporting Russia in its criminal actions in the war against Ukraine, as it continues to provide the occupiers with the country’s territory, airspace and infrastructure, Demchenko emphasized.
