Polish President Andrzej Duda announced the strengthening of the armed forces after the fall of a Russian missile in the Lubelskie Voivodeship.

– NATO is in a state of combat readiness. We have strengthened the readiness of the Polish Armed Forces, in particular the air defense forces. Our aircrafts will be supported by allied aircrafts. We act calmly and prudently,” he said at the briefing.

Duda also added that currently “there is no convincing evidence of who launched this missile”. Investigative actions are ongoing. Probably, it was a Russian-made missile.

– I have informed all the leaders about the situation. Investigative actions are ongoing at the explosion site. American experts will help us with the examination of the scene,” he added.

According to Duda, “this is an isolated incident” and there are no signs that it will happen again.

He also added that tomorrow the Polish ambassador to NATO will probably demand the application of Article 4.

– All the leaders I have spoken to today have assured me of the support of the Allies, up to and including Article 5. We will look at this issue together,” he added.
