The chances of surviving the winter without a mass flow of refugees to Europe depend on the Paris Sustainability Conference , which will be jointly chaired by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyу and French President Emmanuel Macron in Paris.

With 47 countries and 22 organizations participating, France and Ukraine hope to create a coordination mechanism to process requests for funding and assistance.

This will help Ukrainians survive the winter after Russia launched massive missile strikes on civilian infrastructure, says British journalist and diplomatic editor of The Guardian, Patrick Wintour.

French diplomatic sources said the aim is for each country and organization to appoint an official responsible for providing the aid requested by Ukraine by March 2023.

France wants to provide a platform to process Ukraine’s requests, while other countries could fill in the gaps in a process similar to the Ramstein meeting, in which a group of allies coordinates military aid to Ukraine.

Demands at the Paris Sustainability Conference will focus on energy, water, food supply, transport and health.

The UK is expected to focus its offer on helping to restore damaged Ukrainian power plants, including by providing transformers.
