France increases purchases of Caesar shells without waiting for the adoption of the military budget

This year, France will increase the volume of orders for the production of shells and missiles for its weapons. In particular, Caesar howitzers, which are being transferred to Ukraine.
This was stated by French Defense Minister Sébastien Lecornu, Air-cosmos reports.
– “We will do this and will not wait for the adoption of a new law on the military budget. We take into account the experience of the war in Ukraine and will continue to do the same,” he said.
Lecorneuil noted that in July 2022, an order was placed for 5,000 155-mm shells for Caesar self-propelled artillery systems.
– In March 2023, France will order another 16,000 rounds of this caliber from the military equipment and weapons manufacturer Nexter. Three global orders will also be placed with an annual volume of 15 thousand rounds of ammunition,” Lecorneuil said.
The French Defense Minister did not specify how much of this amount of ammunition will be sent to Ukraine.
