Russian soldiers continue to be transferred from Belarus to the territory of the Russian Federation after undergoing training.
This was reported by the spokesman for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, Andriy Demchenko, during a briefing.
– “Russian servicemen are undergoing training and exercises on the territory of the Republic of Belarus. We are currently recording the redeployment from Belarus to Russia of those units that have already completed their training, so the number of Russian troops in this area may change slightly,” he said.
Demchenko noted that earlier there were about 9-10 thousand Russian occupants in Belarus. Ukrainian intelligence and the State Border Guard Service are actively monitoring the situation on the other side of the border.
The spokesperson emphasized that our main task is to have a strong defense in this area and prevent an invasion. In this regard, we continue to build up defensive positions both along the border and in the border area.
Earlier it was reported that the exercises of the Armed Forces of Belarus and Russia on the territory of Belarus were extended at least until March 13.
