The US will send Patriot air defense systems to Ukraine sooner than planned
Patriot air defense systems may be delivered to Ukraine sooner than planned. This was announced by the US Ministry of Defense.
The message states that in the coming days, 65 Ukrainian military personnel will complete training in the use of anti-aircraft missile systems.
After that, the soldiers of the Armed Forces will be sent to Europe for further training. The fact that they had basic knowledge of managing air defense systems helped the Ukrainian military to speed up training.
– Our assessment is that Ukrainian soldiers are impressive. They are very fast learners. Their extensive knowledge of air defense and combat zone experience made it easier for them. Although the concept of operation and maintenance of the Patriot system has never been easy to understand, – Brigadier General Shane Morgan said.
The US military was allotted 10 weeks for the training, but the Ukrainians completed it in about eight weeks. The training schedule was intensive – they trained every day from 07:00 in the morning to 18:00 in the evening local time.
