A new military recruitment campaign has been launched in the Russian Federation. Unlike the previous ones, it is aimed at residents of large cities in Russia.

This was stated by Colonel Tarmo Kundla during a briefing at the Estonian Ministry of Defense, commenting on the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine.

The colonel said that in two or three weeks the weather and ground will no longer limit the maneuvers of units and heavy equipment, and then the world will be able to see who will take the initiative.

According to him, the Russian recruitment campaign is aimed at residents of large cities for the first time. Previously, those willing to take part in hostilities against Ukraine were sought mainly in peripheral regions and among national minorities.

The official Russian campaign will begin on April 1, but all preparations are almost complete. At the same time, on that day, Russia will begin another conscription, which will last until mid-July.

The Russian Federation has recently raised the upper age limit to 30 years to cover more recruits, which significantly increases the burden on Russian military enlistment offices.

At the same time, Wagner’s private military company has announced its intention to recruit about 30,000 more mercenaries to fight against Ukraine.
