The EU summit supported the urgent delivery of anti-aircraft defense and weapons to Ukraine
The European Council emphasized the need to urgently provide Ukraine with air defense equipment, as well as to speed up the provision of all necessary military aid, including artillery ammunition and missiles.

The EU will increase aid to Ukraine
At the conclusion of the first day of the EU summit on April 17, the European Council strongly condemned Russian air and missile attacks against the civilian population and civilian and critical infrastructure of Ukraine, including the recent intensified attacks on the energy sector.
– The European Union and its member states will increase the provision of humanitarian and civil protection assistance, including equipment such as power generators and power transformers, – the statement said.
The EU also welcomed progress on proposals to divert extraordinary proceeds from Russia’s immobilized assets to Ukraine and called for their swift adoption.
During a special meeting of the European Council, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy addressed the audience. He emphasized the importance of strengthening Ukrainian air defense, providing weapons for the Armed Forces, and imposing sanctions against the Russian Federation.
Earlier, representatives of the Pentagon met with members of the House of Representatives of the US Congress and urged them to approve aid to Ukraine , calling the situation at the front “terrible”.
