Poland is ready to host US nuclear weapons
Poland is ready to place American nuclear weapons on its territory.
This was stated by Polish President Andrzej Duda in an interview with Fakt.
Nuclear weapons in Poland
He was asked about the joint use of nuclear weapons by Warsaw and Washington, as well as whether this topic is the subject of discussions between the United States and Poland.
According to him, talks between the two states regarding the placement of nuclear weapons on the territory of Poland have been going on for some time.
– This has been a topic of Polish-American negotiations for some time. I have already spoken about this several times. I must confess that when I was asked about it, I declared our readiness. Russia is increasingly militarizing the Königsberg district. They recently relocated their nuclear weapons to Belarus, – said the Polish president.
Andrzej Duda separately commented on Poland’s access to nuclear weapons.
– If our allies decide to deploy nuclear weapons as part of the joint use of nuclear weapons also on our territory to strengthen the security of NATO’s eastern flank, we are ready for it. We are allies in the North Atlantic Alliance, and we also have obligations in this sense, that is, we are simply implementing a common policy, – he said.
It will be recalled that the Russian dictator Vladimir Putin previously said that Russia is technically ready for a nuclear war if necessary. According to him, the nuclear forces of the Russian Federation are constantly in a state of combat readiness.
In turn, the United States said that they do not see any signs that Russia is preparing to use nuclear weapons.
