In Russia, a unit was created, where people close to the Kremlin serve – British intelligence
A military unit was created in the Russian Federation, where representatives of the Russian elite connected with the Kremlin serve. In particular, they enlist there to protect their relatives from prison.
This is reported by the intelligence agency of the Ministry of Defense of Great Britain.
Russian unit for VIP
– The husband of the famous Russian influencer Olena Blinovskaya joined the military campaign of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in Ukraine to prevent Blinovskaya from going to prison on charges of non-payment of taxes. On April 16, 2024, Blinovska’s husband, Oleksiy, was shown serving in a specially created military unit of the Russian Armed Forces called Bars-Cascade near Ukraine, – intelligence officials said.
According to Britain, this unit was probably formed by the Deputy Speaker of the Russian Parliament for Defense Affairs, Dmytro Sablin.
– The unit is mostly involved in drone operations, usually far from the front lines. It has been active since October 2022 and includes at least 10 members of the United Russia party, as well as the sons of Kremlin VIPs. It is reported that the recruited VIPs are receiving protection, – the intelligence said.
Joining the Bars-Cascade unit probably gives representatives of the Russian elite the opportunity to bypass the requirements for military service in Russia, but at the same time have security guarantees and the favor of the Kremlin, according to British intelligence officers.
We will remind, on April 13, British intelligence reported that Russia uses bribery of its citizens and military personnel to join the ranks of the Russian Armed Forces or continue aggression against Ukraine.
