NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg is outraged that in recent months the allies have been delaying the fulfilment of their promises to Ukraine to supply weapons.

Due to the slowness of Western allies, the Ukrainian army is losing its defence capability and cannot protect the population from massive Russian attacks.

The Secretary General said this during a meeting of NATO members in Bulgaria on 27 May.

Military aid to Ukraine – Stoltenberg criticises NATO for delays

– The problem is that in recent months we have not delivered what we promised to Ukraine. The United States has spent six months agreeing on a new aid package. The European allies, who promised one million rounds of ammunition, have not delivered anything close to that amount,” Stoltenberg said.

He explained that the lack of air defence systems, weapons and ammunition is detrimental to the ability of the Defence Forces to defend their land.

The politician called on partners to speed up the allocation of military aid, listing what Kyiv needs right now.
