Zelenskyу will remain president until the end of martial law: Stefanchuk answered Putin

The head of the Verkhovna Rada, Ruslan Stefanchuk, replied to Russian dictator Volodymyr Putin that until the end of martial law, Volodymyr Zelenskyу will remain the president of Ukraine.
The head of the Verkhovna Rada reacted to Putin’s statement that the five-year term of office of the president has expired, and new elections are not being held, so power in Ukraine should allegedly pass into the hands of the parliament and its chairman.
Stefanchuk on Putin’s statements regarding the legitimacy of the President of Ukraine
– It is very good that the Constitution of Ukraine has started to be read in Russia. I would recommend inquisitive readers to study the text of the Constitution not selectively, but to pay attention to part 1 of Article 108: the President of Ukraine exercises powers until the newly elected President of Ukraine takes office, – quoted Stefanchuk.
According to him, in democratic societies this is called continuity of power. However, he noted that this continuity is not equal to Russian perpetuity, but in the democratic and security sense.
Ruslan Stefanchuk emphasized that for this reason Volodymyr Zelenskyy is and will remain the president until the end of martial law, in accordance with the Constitution and laws of Ukraine.
In his opinion, the promulgated Russian narratives are as predictable as they are meaningless.
The head of the Verkhovna Rada emphasized that it would be very good if, in addition to the Constitution of Ukraine, Russia began to read its own legislation.
He cited Article 79.1 of the Constitution of the Russian Federation, which states that the Russian Federation takes measures to support, strengthen international peace and security, and ensure the peaceful coexistence of states and peoples.
