Russian dictator Vladimir Putin may order the use of tactical nuclear weapons if the Russian army is defeated in Ukraine.

Oleksandr Lytvynenko, secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, admits this development in an interview with The Times.

Will Putin use tactical nuclear weapons?

Watching now

– I do not rule out that Putin may resort to the use of tactical nuclear weapons. We cannot exclude anything if Russia finds itself on the verge of a catastrophic defeat, – said the secretary of the NSDC.

In his opinion, the defeat of Russia can provoke the collapse of the front line, desertion from the army and protests in Moscow.

Now there is no possibility that Putin will deploy nuclear weapons while Russia has the upper hand in the war against Ukraine, Oleksandr Lytvynenko suggested.

The Secretary of the National Security Council doubts that Putin will use strategic nuclear weapons that could trigger World War III because the dictator wants to live.

At the same time, the defeat of the Russian Federation on the battlefield in Ukraine will not lead to the automatic use of nuclear weapons by Moscow, as Putin may try to convince the Russians that such a turn of events is actually a supposed victory, the NSDC secretary suggested.
