According to the NATO Secretary General, on the eve of the summit, the allies are discussing and resolving many issues regarding Ukraine.

Stoltenberg recalled the agreed NATO plan for training and security assistance to Ukraine. He also said that he expects more announcements on increased military support for Ukraine.

– “I am sure that we also have wording that Ukraine will become a member of the Alliance. The exact wording of what we will agree on is currently being discussed among NATO members, but I am confident that we will reach an agreement before the summit,” Jens Stoltenberg said.

In addition, the NATO Secretary General expressed his belief that the stronger the support from the North Atlantic bloc and the more reliable the long-term commitment to Ukraine, the sooner the full-scale war will end.

For his part, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said that the NATO summit to be held in early July this year will focus on strengthening Ukraine’s success in the long term.

As a reminder, the NATO anniversary summit, dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the military bloc, will take place in Washington on 9-10 July. It is expected that the situation around the full-scale war in Ukraine will be one of the main focuses of the meeting.
