The EU will immediately start work on the 15th package of sanctions against the Russian Federation – the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Finland, Elina Valtonen, said that the European Union will immediately start work on the 15th package of sanctions against Russia.
The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland announced this before the beginning of the meeting of the heads of foreign affairs of the EU countries in Luxembourg on June 24.

Valtonen welcomed the adoption of the 14th package of sanctions against the Russian Federation, as well as measures aimed at preventing Russia from using a shadow oil fleet in the Baltic Sea region.
The minister emphasized that work on the 15th package of EU sanctions against the aggressor country will begin immediately.
– I am grateful for the 14th package of sanctions, and yes, the negotiations took a long time. However, the package of sanctions is very broad and, of course, all countries have their own views that had to be taken into account. But I am very glad that this package of sanctions is already in place. And, of course, work on the next package of sanctions will begin immediately, – said the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland.
It should be noted that the European Union is constantly strengthening sanctions against Russia after it launched a full-scale war against Ukraine.
Thus, on June 24, the Council of the European Union approved the 14th package of sanctions against Russia due to its invasion of Ukraine. These restrictive measures are aimed at a number of sectors of the Russian economy, such as energy, finance and trade, and make it difficult to circumvent EU sanctions.
In addition, for the first time, the EU is introducing a ban on transshipment of Russian liquefied natural gas (LNG) in EU ports for delivery to third countries.
Also, the 14th package of sanctions against the Russian Federation contains restrictive measures against 116 individuals and legal entities.
