The Netherlands will allocate €300 million for the purchase of ammunition for F-16 fighter jets, which will soon be handed over to Ukraine.
These funds will complement the €150 million that the Dutch government had previously allocated for the same purpose.
This was reported by the country’s Ministry of Defense.
F-16 from the Netherlands – what benefits will it bring to Ukraine
– Ukrainians should not only be able to fly F-16s. They must also be able to deploy the capabilities of this fighter jet. Therefore, weapons are crucial. The F-16 ammunition we are purchasing can help repel Russian attacks,” said the head of the department, Ruben Brekelmans, at the NATO summit, which is currently taking place in Washington.
He also pointed out that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is determined to attack Ukraine without limit, so Kyiv’s allies should do everything to provide him with systematic military assistance.
– By purchasing additional ammunition for the F-16, we want to send a signal to Moscow that NATO allies continue to support Ukraine. Russia should not win this war, it is also in favor of our security,” summarized Brekelmans.
