Zelenskyy Erdogan meeting: Turkish president works to restore grain deal

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during the NATO summit in Washington. They discussed a number of important issues, including the resumption of the grain deal.

The Turkish presidential office said that during the meeting, Erdogan and Zelensky discussed the course of Russia’s war against Ukraine, as well as regional and global issues.
– Stating that Turkey continues to make efforts to end the Ukrainian-Russian war with a just peace, President Erdogan added that efforts have been launched to revive the Black Sea Grain Initiative, the statement said.
According to Erdogan, Turkey is ready for any initiative and mediation to lay the foundation for peace.
At the same time, Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Erdogan noted Ukraine’s efforts to bring our people home. He especially praised the return of Crimean Tatars and thanked for these efforts, the head of state said.
According to the President of Ukraine, his team will continue this work.
The Head of State noted that Ukraine intends to hold a conference in Turkey on food security and freedom of navigation as part of the implementation of the Peace Summit decisions.
