Bulgaria conducted an audit of its ammunition, found excess and will hand it over to Ukraine

Bulgaria is ready to transfer a batch of ammunition of various calibers to Ukraine from those stocks that are considered redundant in its arsenal.
This was stated by the Minister of Defense of the country Atanas Zapryanov, the BNR agency reports.
Military aid to Ukraine – ammunition from Bulgaria
— We made a very serious analysis and calculation of our weapons. It turned out that there is something superfluous and unnecessary for the Bulgarian army. From this property – a part of ammunition of certain types – can be given to Ukraine, – emphasized the Bulgarian official.
Zapryanov noted that these shells will be transferred to Kyiv in the new package of military aid provided for in the compensation agreement with the EU.
– We have already received €30 million for the last batch handed over to the Ukrainian troops, and all these funds will be directed to the modernization of our Armed Forces, – he said.
The head of the Bulgarian defense department explained that before making a decision on the transfer of ammunition to Ukraine, Sofia and Kyiv need to agree on all terms of logistics and delivery of this weapon.
