Umerov discussed with Austin the urgent needs of the front
On Tuesday, July 23, Defense Minister Rustem Umerov held telephone talks with his American counterpart, the head of the US Pentagon, Lloyd Austin.
The Ukrainian official himself wrote about this in X , telling about the results of the discussion.
Umerov asked Austin to lift the ban on long shots.
— We discussed the latest events on the front line and the urgent needs of the battlefield.
I once again emphasized the importance and urgency of canceling the ban on long-range strikes against the enemy, – noted Umerov.
According to him, Austin listened to the interlocutor’s arguments that Ukraine should be able to strike Russian military airfields.
“After all, enemy planes are bombing Ukrainian cities and critical infrastructure facilities,” – Umerov explained.
According to the results, the head of the Ukrainian defense department assessed his conversation with Austin as productive.
