For the third day in a row, IT specialists of the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine have been conducting large-scale cyberattacks against financial institutions and the Russian banking system.

This was reported to Suspilne by its own sources in the security agency.

GUR cyberattacks on Russian banks – what is known

The largest Russian banking institutions are under attack by Ukrainian specialists.

In particular, Alfa Bank, Sberbank, Raiffeisen Bank and VTB Bank. As well as RSHB Bank, Rosbank, Gazprombank, T-Bank and IBank.

The day after the attack, Promsvyazbank and Pochta Bank were added to the list.

These institutions are indirectly or directly involved in supporting the military operations in Ukraine.

Some of them have already officially addressed their customers, stating that they have faced a large-scale DDOS attack planned from abroad.

– “Customers across Russia cannot access their personal accounts, pay for services, pay for public transportation, or conduct any other financial transactions,” the sources told Suspilne.

According to them, the situation for Russian organizations is complicated by the extremely unstable work of Internet providers.

Hackers of the GUR managed to disrupt the network of major operators – MTS, Beeline, Megafon, Rostelecom and Tele2.

Some Russian media outlets even dubbed the attack the “Internet apocalypse” and admit that they have never experienced such powerful cyberattacks before.
