The EU is monitoring the events in the Kursk region: Ukraine has the right to defend itself

The European Union has been notified and is monitoring the situation around Suja, Kursk region , where hostilities have not subsided for the second day.
They claim that according to international law, Ukraine has a legitimate right to defend itself, in particular by striking the territory of the aggressor state.
This was stated by the spokesperson of the European Commission on foreign policy issues, Peter Stano.
– The EU continues to fully support Ukraine’s legal right to protection from Russian aggression and its efforts to restore sovereignty and territorial integrity, – he said.
Events in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation – what is known
On August 6, hostilities intensified in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation bordering Ukraine.
Russian mass media reported on attempts by Ukrainian troops to break through into the region.
On August 7, the governor of the Kursk region announced a state of emergency, there is no electricity in populated areas, there are known cases of capture of Russian soldiers.
The Ukrainian side does not confirm or deny its involvement.
