The Pentagon confirmed the transfer of some units of Russian troops from the territory of Ukraine to the Kursk region of the Russian Federation.

At the same time, the US White House also confirmed the transfer of Russian troops from Ukraine to the Kursk region.
This was reported by White House National Security Communications Advisor John Kirby during a briefing on August 15.
Kirby noted that the US sees some Russian units being diverted from operations in and around Ukraine to the Kursk region.
According to him, the USA currently does not know the exact number of Russian units and their intentions.
– All I can tell you is that we saw how some units were redirected and went to this area. But it is currently unclear how many of them will eventually arrive and what their military mission will be – said a White House representative.
Kirby also added that the United States is closely monitoring this situation, but at the moment cannot say exactly what Putin plans to do.
The representative of the White House noted that due to the operation of the Armed Forces in the Kursk region, Putin was faced with the dilemma of strengthening the defense in this region.
