NATO PA recognizes Russia as a terrorist state and calls for establishment of international tribunal

NATO Parliamentary Assembly recognized Russia as a terrorist state. It also called for the establishment of a special international tribunal.

This was announced by Head of the Permanent Delegation of Ukraine to the NATO PA Yehor Chernev.

– The NATO Parliamentary Assembly called for the establishment of a special International Tribunal on Russia’s aggression and recognized it as a terrorist state. All 30 NATO countries supported the proposal of our delegation.

Such a tribunal will allow to convict not only the direct perpetrators of war crimes, but also the top leadership of the Russian Federation. The resolution will be sent to the governments and parliaments of all NATO member states,” Chernev wrote.

The resolution also took into account other wishes of the Ukrainian delegation, such as increasing the supply of weapons to Ukraine, developing concrete steps towards Ukraine’s accession to NATO and creating a mechanism for collecting reparations from Russia for the damage caused to Ukraine.

Chernev added that delegates emphasized that the Ukrainian army will definitely strengthen NATO, and therefore Ukraine’s membership is desirable and important for the Alliance itself.

In addition, the resolution on the initiative of the Ukrainian delegation enshrined the principle that NATO will support Ukraine as long as necessary.
