Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine Iryna Vereshchuk said that the fifth exchange of prisoners with Russia took place on April 19.
According to her, 60 servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and 16 civilians will return home.
– Today we exchanged 60 servicemen, 10 of them – officers. 16 civilians are also returning home. This was the fifth exchange of prisoners. In total, 76 people, – she stressed.
The previous exchange of prisoners took place on April 15 in the Kherson region near the village of Pasad-Pokrovske. Then five of our soldiers were returned home, and four Russian soldiers were given to the occupiers.
As of April 16, about 700 Ukrainian servicemen were held captive by the Russian occupiers.
Russia also holds more than 1 thousand civilians, most of them are women.
