Until the end of this year, in 2022, Ukrainian troops can cross the administrative border with the Russian-occupied Crimean peninsula.
Kyrylo Budanov, the Chief of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, told it in an interview, answering questions about when and how the full-scale war with Russia could end.
According to him, the active phase of a full-scale war with Russia should decline by the end of this year. It is about active hostilities.
– As I said, the active phase should go to the maximum decline by the end of the year. Russia has the resources to wage a normal war for 12 months, – Budanov said.
The turning point in the war, according to his forecasts, will begin in August, when Ukraine will accumulate a sufficient number of Western weapons.
Asked how the war could end for Ukraine, the head of the MID accented that our state must return all the occupied territories, including Crimea.
– It will end in one thing: the return of our occupied territories… By the end of the year, we must at least enter the territory of Crimea, – said Budanov.
Asked how the war will end for Russia’s aggressor, he said there are two options: a change in Russia’s political leadership and the collapse of Russia.
– The first is a change in political leadership while formally preserving Russia’s territorial integrity. I emphasize – in the formal. Under this option, everyone will personally blame Putin and his inner circle and say that Russia has nothing to do with it. They will withdraw troops from all occupied territories everywhere in the world. The occupied territories will return to those countries to which they belong – Georgia, Japan, Germany, etc.
And Russia will begin to restore its functioning as a civilized state. It will start again, so to speak. It will work for a while. Then only history will show us. The second option is to divide Russia into three or more parts… Into newly independent states, – Budanov explained.
Kyrylo Budanov recently stated that Ukraine would fight until we expel all Russian troops from its territory. According to him, Ukraine will begin deoccupation of territories in the coming months.
