A martyrology in memory of juvenile victims of the racist invasion was opened in Kyiv today. Everything was organized on the territory of the Museum of the History of Ukraine during the Second World War. Namely – in the premises of the Moscow Gate, which also has a symbolic meaning.
This is a visual projection with the names, photos and place of death of the children. All information with the consent of the parents was provided by the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine. Unfortunately, the authors of the exhibition say, the list will be replenished. After all, many crimes of racists are still unknown to us.
There are also unnamed children on the list who have not yet been identified. The projection is accompanied by the composition Sleep, My Child, written by Serhiy Zhadan and Ruslan Horovy.
According to the organizers, it will be possible to visit the exhibition for the next three months. An art object in the form of a black burnt tree was installed near the gate. On its branches – children’s toys in red boxes.
According to the author of the art object, artist Anton Logov, each box is a separate family to which the racists brought grief. The tree itself symbolizes the entire Ukrainian people, which, despite all the suffering and losses, continues its life.
After the opening of the exhibition, a prayer service was held nearby – a prayer for the children. According to the official information of the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine, more than 260 Ukrainian children have died at the hands of the racists since February 24.
