Mykyta Nadtochiy, Acting Commander of the Azov Regiment, said that the mass murder of Ukrainian prisoners held in the penal colony in Olenivka by Russians was an act of public execution and promised that the organizers and participants of this crime would be punished appropriately.
He said this in a video message published on July 30 on the Azov channel in Telegram.
– We regard the strike on Olenivka as an act of public execution. Russia committed it out of impunity. They are used to the fact that no one will hold them accountable even for violating laws, customs, and rules of warfare,” – said the military officer.
He noted that neither Ukraine nor the brothers of the killed would let such crime go unpunished and stated that the regiment is already establishing the names of those involved in the organization of the death penalty in the Ukrainian military.
– We have preliminary information, but we are not ready to announce it yet. We will find them wherever they are: in the occupied territories of Ukraine, in Russia, or in third countries. Ukraine as a state will ensure fair punishment,” – Mykyta Nadtochiy said.
The Acting Commander of the regiment stressed that the Russian Federation acknowledged its involvement in the crime by the statement of its embassy in Britain.
Nadtochiy also appealed to Russian President Vladimir Putin, who, according to him, is personally responsible for this war crime.
– I want to remind Putin that you do not talk about the rope in the hanged man’s house. You will be executed, along with your jackals and embassies, by an international tribunal… Russia thinks it killed Azov, executed. But Azov is now the whole country. Every Ukrainian will take revenge for every one of our tortured and dead brothers,” – he warned.
