The Russian Federation obviously cannot use the two main road bridges that provide access to the territory occupied by it on the west bank of the Dnipro in the Kherson region.
This assumption was voiced in the intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Great Britain on August 13.
The Ministry of Defense stated that the high-precision strikes of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on August 10 made the crossing over the Dnipro in Nova Kakhovka unsuitable for the passage of heavy military equipment.
Structurally undermined, according to the Ministry of Defense of Great Britain, is the Antoniv bridge, where the Russians managed to make only superficial repairs.
The main railway bridge near Kherson has additional damage, so for at least two weeks Russia will use the pontoon crossing near this bridge as the main supply route.
British intelligence is certain that even if Russia manages to significantly repair the bridges, they will still remain a key vulnerability of the occupying forces.
– The ground supply for several thousand Russian troops on the west bank of the Dnieper almost certainly depends only on two pontoon crossing points, – note the Ministry of Defense of Great Britain.
So, given the limited supply chain, the stockpile that Russia has managed to accumulate on the west bank is likely to be a defining indicator of the endurance of Russian forces.
By the way, on August 12, missile and artillery units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine targeted the road bridge of the Nova Kakhovka dam.
After control strikes, the bridge cannot be used as intended, the Southern Operational Command reported on August 13.
