In Snigurivka, Mykolaiv region, which was recently de-occupied, the Russian military set up torture chambers where they interrogated local residents.
Ivan Kukhta, the head of the Sniguriv city military administration, stated this on Radio NV.
– There are many stories of torture, abuse, many people were taken to Kherson and Kakhovka. Now we are identifying tortured people, we have an understanding of where the mass graves are. There are many stories, and they are all the same: destruction, harassment. The Russians told the people: “Mykolaiv is about to fall, we will take Odesa, we will take Kyiv,” – says Kukhta.
It is noted that the torture chamber was in the district police station, then the torture chamber was placed in a restaurant.
– People called us and said that they could hear the screams of people being tortured. People who lived there in high-rise buildings had to move to relatives on other streets in order not to hear the screams, – he reports.
Snigurivka, which had been under occupation since March 19, was liberated by the Ukrainian military on November 10.
According to Kukhta, the occupiers left Snigurivka, as well as Yevgenivka and Vasylivka settlements, from the evening of November 8.
– They had time to gather, collect all the looted property. The Russians took everything, all the equipment from communal enterprises, from private businesses, they took cars and tractors from private individuals. Terrible mess, ripped out batteries and boilers, etc. Everything that could be taken with them was taken, – said the head of the military administration.
