Ukraine needs long-range missiles so that Russia does not have a sense of impunity and the missile forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine can respond to the enemy, which places its launchers far from the front line.
This was announced by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during the evening address following the results of January 28.
He reminded that in the morning Russia struck Kostyantynivka.
– The enemy used S-300 missiles on the residential sector. As of this time, 17 names are on the list of victims: 14 were wounded, and three people died, – he said.
The President emphasized that the Russian missiles hit four residential buildings, which is, unfortunately, a daily occurrence for the territories to which the Russian army reaches with missiles.
– It would be possible to stop this Russian terror if we could provide the appropriate missile forces to our military, so that the terrorists would not have a feeling of impunity. Ukraine needs long-range missiles, in particular, in order to remove the possibility of the occupier to place its missile launchers somewhere far from the front line and destroy Ukrainian cities with them, – Zelenskyy said.
The President thanked all the politicians, public figures, journalists and ordinary people in the world who insist together with Ukraine that there cannot be any taboo in the supply of weapons to protect against Russian terror.
– We will do everything to ensure that the partners open this vital supply – the supply, in particular, of ATACMS and other similar weapons. Because it is necessary to protect life, – he said.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that today he continued the so-called marathon of honesty, which “should return international sports structures to true Olympic principles.”
He said that he has addressed a letter to the presidents of the leading international sports federations with a call to decide on the decision of the International Olympic Committee, which, unfortunately, wants to open sports to the propaganda influence of the terrorist state.
– If Russian athletes appear at international competitions, it is only a matter of time before they start justifying Russia’s aggression and using the symbols of terror. And it is also only a matter of time when the Kremlin will start using the existing unprincipled “flexibility” of the International Olympic Committee to say that the world agrees to make concessions to the aggressor, – the president said.
According to him, today it is impossible to ignore the fact that Russia continues to terrorize every day.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy also stated that he signed the decree on the implementation of the NSDC decision regarding sanctions against legal entities and individuals used by the Russian Federation to transport military equipment and soldiers by rail.
– We are talking about 185 companies and individuals. Their assets in Ukraine are blocked, the available property will be used for our defense. And we will work to ensure that similar blocking is applied by other countries. I thank everyone who helps us strengthen sanctions against Russia! And, by the way, I thank all the investigators who expose the ways used by the terrorist state in an attempt to circumvent sanctions, the president said.
The Ukrainian leader especially noted the units that most effectively defend Donetsk region: the 21st separate battalion of the 56th separate motorized infantry brigade, soldiers of the 26th and 55th separate artillery brigades, and the 92nd separate mechanized brigade.
