On Monday, February 20, US President Joe Biden arrived in Kyiv for an unannounced visit.
The first photos and videos of President Biden in Ukraine have already appeared, accompanied by the sound of an air raid alert alongside Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
It should be noted that the presidents of the United States and Ukraine were spotted on St. Michael’s Square in the center of Kyiv.
They honored the memory of the fallen defenders of Ukraine at the Wall of Remembrance of St. Michael’s Cathedral.
Later, a joint photo of the presidents appeared on Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s Telegram channel.
– “Joseph Biden, welcome to Kyiv! Your visit is an extremely important manifestation of support for all Ukrainians,” the statement said.
– I’m in Kyiv today to meet with President Zelensky and reaffirm our unwavering commitment to Ukraine’s democracy, sovereignty, and territorial integrity,” Joe Biden told reporters.
He also said that tomorrow he would announce a new $500 million military aid package for Ukraine.
Almost 15 years have passed between the current and previous visits of American presidents to Ukraine. The last time George W. Bush visited us was in 2008.
