Ukraine will receive a new package of financial assistance in the amount of 5.5 billion dollars from Japan. This was announced by Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida on Monday, February 20, a few days before the first anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

– There is still a need to help people whose livelihoods have been destroyed by the war and to rebuild destroyed infrastructure. We decided to provide additional financial support in the amount of 5.5 billion dollars, – Kishida said, speaking at a symposium of think tanks.

We will remind that the other day the Japanese government decided to provide emergency grant aid in the amount of about $550,000 to support preparations for winter in Ukraine.

Before that, Japan provided $10 million for emergency measures in Ukraine.

Since the beginning of the full-scale Russian armed aggression, Japan has already provided Ukraine with millions of dollars in humanitarian aid, vehicles, body armor, drones, helmets, medical equipment and chemical protection suits.
