On February 2, the Russian information campaign accompanying the storming of Bakhmut was overly intensified.
This was reported by Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Hanna Malyar on her Telegram channel.
She noted that the Russian Federation is launching several narratives aimed at demoralizing Ukrainian society and the military, in particular, that Bakhmut is not of strategic importance and its defense is an allegedly political decision.
– This is not the case. The military has repeatedly explained the importance and objectives of the defense of Bakhmut. The decision to conduct combat operations is made by the highest military leadership,” explained Malyar.
In addition, the enemy is discrediting the military command in the eastern sector by posting fake documents allegedly from the headquarters in the East.
– “For the purpose of suggestion, they demonstrate the “strength” of the occupiers and the “weakness” of the defenders, revealing allegedly known plans for Bakhmut of both warring parties,” she said.
