Ukrainian defenders continue to hold Bakhmut, Donetsk region. Russian troops are far from capturing the city.
This was stated by the spokesman of the Eastern Group of Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Serhiy Cherevaty, The Guardian writes.
Cherevaty confirmed that the fighting took place around the city administration building, where the Wagner PMC claims to have raised the Russian flag.
– Bakhmut is Ukrainian, and they have not captured anything and, to put it mildly, they are very far from it, – he emphasized.
Earlier, the head of the President’s Office, Andriy Yermak, called for a calm response to Russian fakes about Bakhmut. He noted that the Russian Federation “invents a victory”, which in reality does not exist.
