Russian dictator Vladimir Putin destroyed the most combat-ready unit of the Russian army when he sent it to war against Ukraine.
Andriy Yusov, a representative of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine, said this on the air of the telethon of the United News.
He noted that Russians can still plan and try to implement tactical operations, but in general, Russian troops are moving to strategic defense.
According to him, the much-hyped winter offensive of the Russian Federation is long over, and the enemy’s tasks have failed. In addition, the occupiers do not have the strength today to repeat the attempts we saw after February 24 last year.
– But this does not mean that the enemy is defeated or does not pose a threat to Ukraine. There is a large amount of manpower, mobilization potential, and a significant amount of equipment, even if it is often outdated and mothballed. But the most combat-ready part of the Russian army has been destroyed in Ukraine. Putin himself destroyed it by sending it to the meat grinder,” Yusov added.
The GUR representative emphasized that the Security and Defense Forces, in turn, are preparing to liberate the occupied territories of Ukraine.
Earlier, the mayor of Enerhodar, Dmytro Orlov, said that tensions among the occupiers and collaborators are growing in the city amid an expected counteroffensive by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The enemies are intensifying repressions and checks of local residents on the streets, going door to door.
