The Russian occupiers at Zaporizhzhya NPP have destroyed the ability to respond to accidents. The plant has no equipment and no fire station in case of a possible accident.
This was announced by Acting SNRIU Chairman Oleh Korikov during a press conference.
He noted that ZNPP no longer has automatic radiation safety monitoring.
– The crisis centre at the ZNPP industrial site is not working, as it is not staffed, and the occupants are actually living there. The external crisis centre does not receive data on the state of Zaporizhzhya NPP systems and equipment, and the Ukrainian fire and rescue unit, which is supposed to respond to accidents, is not working now,” he said.
Korikov added that the pressure and torture of the racists has led to the actual disappearance of the unit that is supposed to support the Zaporizhzhia NPP in the event of an accident or emergency.
According to him, two weeks ago, at the command of Moscow, the automatic transmission of radiation monitoring data from radiation monitoring sensors located at the industrial site of the ZNPP stopped. He stressed that this is a violation of nuclear and radiation safety.
He said that the Ukrainian team at ZNPP manually takes these readings.
