Ukraine is working to strengthen our defence of the skies and now has specific diplomatic tasks for the autumn.
This was stated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy in his evening video address after a visit to Zakarpattia region.
The Head of State heard about the work of the air defence forces and the results of shooting down Shahed kamikaze drones used by Russian troops to attack Ukraine. Last night, the occupants launched 37 drones. He noted that work is underway to strengthen the protection of the sky.
– “We are doing our best with our partners to increase the supply of air defence systems. It is very important that the world does not get used to this Russian terror. Every hit is a common problem. Not only for Ukraine, but also for all those in the world whose stability Russia is trying to destroy when it hits our ports and infrastructure.
Zelenskyy believes that now for the Russian state, it is a battle not only against our freedom, and not only against Ukraine. Moscow is fighting a battle for a global catastrophe, so that the world’s food market collapses, price crises and supply disruptions occur.
– Someone there thinks they can make money on this. Someone in Moscow is hoping that they will be able to bargain for something. These are very, very dangerous hopes,” the President of Ukraine warned.
In Zakarpattia, the president held a large meeting with all Ukrainian ambassadors and set specific diplomatic tasks for the autumn.
– The meeting on the situation in the region was positive, primarily economic. Jobs, new projects, relocation of enterprises. Zakarpattia can definitely be one of the drivers of Ukraine’s economic development,” Zelenskyy said.
“In particular, the development of a salt deposit has already begun here, which can provide the whole of Ukraine with table and industrial salt. There are other projects that will be discussed with government officials.
The President finished the day in Berehove. There, he met with the Hungarian community, soldiers, and the leadership of Zakarpattia region. The Head of State noted that it was a very powerful day for Ukraine and thanked everyone who defends freedom.
