The war can be long and during it “painful losses” are possible.
This was announced by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Oleksiy Reznikov, at the International Veterans Forum.
– Now we can definitely look ahead, definitely for months, definitely for years. We had (at the beginning of a full-scale war, – Ed.) the main task – to survive, and now – to win. It is not just to liberate all our lands, but to make sure that the enemy never thinks of coming back with revenge. We have a very strong and insidious enemy. The war can be long, because it is a real marathon. Unfortunately, we will still have painful losses, – he said.
The minister also said that, in his opinion, now is a step towards victory.
– In order to defeat the Russians and not transfer this problem to future generations, we must realize what is most important for victory. Last year we needed weapons to survive, now and for the future the step to victory is in how people will feel. Because our main advantage in the long run depends on what people feel – it’s unity and readiness to fight, – Reznikov said.
