Belarus receives first nuclear warheads from Russia – Budanov

Кирило Буданов - керівник ГУР

A few days ago, Russia handed over the first nuclear warheads to Belarus, but the Belarusian military is not ready to use these weapons.

The head of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov, said this in an interview with journalist Natalia Moseichuk.

According to him, nuclear weapons in Belarus are a “big geopolitical game”, as well as a means of deterrence and raising the stakes.

– “Speaking of Belarus’ nuclear weapons, just a few days ago, the first warheads were delivered,” the GUR chief said.

The chief of military intelligence says that before the delivery of nuclear weapons to Belarus, Belarusians were trained with nuclear simulators.

– I read the original documents on the results of the training. They are quite bad documents for Belarus,” he said.

Kirill Budanov says that Russia’s 12th Directorate, which is responsible for nuclear charges, reported that the results of the training with nuclear simulators on the Iskander missile systems showed that Belarus was completely unprepared to operate nuclear weapons.

At the same time, the Belarusians showed the highest possible result in mastering the Tochka U type of equipment, the DIU chief said.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Russia would start deploying tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus after 7-8 July.

At the same time, on 22 August, Polish President Andrzej Duda reported that the Russians were in the process of deploying short-range nuclear weapons to Belarus.
