Russian troops continue to try to surround Avdiivka in Donetsk region, Ukrainian defenders repel enemy attacks.
This was announced by the head of the Avdiiv city military administration, Vitaliy Barabash, on the air of the telethon .
According to him, along the line of defense, the occupiers do not stop their activity, they continue to shell the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with all available weapons. At night, the Russians attacked with air bombs, air missiles and barrel artillery. Also, shooting battles do not subside.
– The enemy does not stop trying to surround the city. Throws more and more new forces to the south and north of the city. For the last two days, they mostly operate in small groups, trying to find cracks in the defense from several directions at the same time. But they are not successful, all attacks are repelled. The defense is holding, – emphasized the head of the City Military Administration.
Barabash also noted that the statements of the propagandists of the Russian Federation about the alleged breakthrough of the defense line of the Armed Forces by the Russians are false.
Earlier, the representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense Andriy Yusov reported that more than 400,000 Russian soldiers are concentrated on the territory of Ukraine.
